creative people are johnny depp

snobs are the worst.

okay but look at all the other ones, holy shit

normal people enjoy nature and the world around them. creative people apparently don’t even pay attention to the creative works they claim to enjoy (because that guy is somehow simultaneously an elf, a hobbit, AND a wizard).

image

ordinary people do fun activities with their siblings. creatives engage in offensive racial stereotyping.

look I think of myself as a creative person and never in my life have I hallucinated dragons cooking my food seriously what the everloving fuck

Donald Trump thinks Andrew Jackson could have avoided the Civil War: Words cannot capture how ignorant and offensive that is

justsomeantifas:

justsomeantifas:

Where do I even begin?

  • Trump is saying that Andrew Jackson was angered by the Civil War and if he was president during the time he wouldn’t have let it happen. He was angered at the war… despite being dead for 16 years before it even started?

  • “I mean had Andrew Jackson been a little bit later you wouldn’t have had the Civil War. He was a very tough person, but he had a big heart.” Andrew Jackson, the racist who engineered genocide had a “big heart” … okay then.

  •  According to Trump, Jackson said “there’s no reason for this [Civil War].” Again he was fucking dead but okay.

  • I’ll just leave this here: “People don’t realize, you know, the Civil War, if you think about it, why? People don’t ask that question, but why was there the Civil War? Why could that one not have been worked out?”

Wait I missed the best part! Here he is acting like that kid that did no research on his project but still wants to sound like he knows what he’s talking about:

“And I said, when was Andrew Jackson? It was 1828. That’s a long time ago.”

Unarmed 15-year-old boy shot in the head by Balch Springs police officer.

15-year-old Jordan Edwards and his friends were leaving a party at approximately 11PM on Saturday after hearing gunshots. A police officer, whose name has not been released yet, shot through the passenger side window of the vehicle, in which Edwards and his friends were traveling, and struck the boy in the head. The officers were reportedly responding to a call of drunk teenagers. The Edwards family’s legal counsel S. Lee Merritt says  Edwards and his friends were NOT the intoxicated teens that police officers were allegedly called to control.

The police officer who shot Edwards was placed on paid leave.

Police claim the vehicle Edwards was in backed toward officers “in an aggressive manner.”

Another innocent Black child was shot by a trigger-happy cop. Another family is in pain..

Jordan was a freshman at Mesquite High School, he loved to play football and was a straight A student.

What a pervert. What the FUCK does he not know how clothes work? What the hypothetical fuck is she wearing then if we can see all that?

It’s like how bath towels in comics miraculously wrap completely around breasts. Or how even when injured and dead on the ground women in comics have to be twisted into “sexy” poses. Or how women in comics walk like they’re in high heels even barefoot.

image

It’s the only way men know how to draw women, because to them female characters are only there to be sexy. They only think of “women” as exploitative costumes and camera angles, high heels and titillation. Sex objects to ogle, plot objects to further male heroes’ narratives and drama, not heroes to cheer for.

I’m sorry, I was labouring under the impression that this was the crowd that thought women should wear what they want..?

And that applies to fictional women who are depicted by men how? You can’t apply agency in the plot to something metatextual when it comes to fictional characters.

Come on, let’s not pretend this is a male exclusive thing.

We’re going to have this argument are we? Not to mention you’re deviating from the original point that attributing agency to fictional characters’ clothing is asinine.

What you have here are images of power, and do you really believe these characters are designed with titillating heterosexual women and bisexual and homosexual men in mind? Because I don’t think you do.

This is why the Hawkeye Initiative exists. Take common female poses in comics, put a man in the role, and see how “empowering” and “strong” it actually looks:

He got the painting for fighting against ‘censorship.’ Note that they handed him a gross design of a female being objectified, because at the end of the day, that is all they really want, to be allowed to objectify women. They don’t care about censorship in general it is about their ability to sexualise and degrade women without consequence.

You can see her butthole for chrissakes

Mary Somerville is the reason for the word ‘scientist.’ A self-taught mathematician, astronomer, and physicist, she was a master of connecting the physical sciences. In 1834, she’d impressed a historian who found himself unable to publicly praise her because the only common description for that sort of scholar was ‘man of science.’ He then coined the term 'scientist’- but it wasn’t intended to be a gender-neutral noun, it was specifically a reference to Mary Somerville’s expertise.
